What works today

Three ways to move money

  • Add money by debit cardPay with your debit card on a secure form processed by Stripe. Your card details are never stored by NOVARA.
  • Send to NOVARA membersTransfers between NOVARA accounts are instant and post to both sides of the ledger at the same moment.
  • Transfers to other banksExternal transfers move on the US business-day schedule (pending, submitted, then completed), and you can follow every step in the app.

Timing

Business days, explained

External transfers move on US business days. They're submitted in batches at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 5:00 PM Eastern; anything requested after the last batch goes out at 9:00 AM the next business day. A transfer settles the business day after it's submitted.

Example
  1. Friday, 6:10 PM ET: you send $250 to another bank. It's after the cutoff.
  2. Monday, 9:00 AM ET: the transfer is submitted. Until then, you can cancel it.
  3. Tuesday: it settles and shows as completed.

Weekends and US federal holidays aren't business days.
